How Much Is a Steel Building From Great Western?

Pricing depends on your overall project specifications. Variables like IBC (International Building Code) requirements for wind resistance, snow load, and seismic resistance make the location of your project a critical factor in pricing. Fortunately, our team of designers is experienced in IBC restrictions and has real-world experience designing buildings for virtually all regions and climates.

Choosing Great Western to provide your metal building ensures that all of your chosen building design elements, from doors and windows to aesthetic choices, are included in your estimate. Our designs and estimates do not take concrete work, dirt work, mechanical needs, parking, or interior finishing. However, we are happy to work with your contractors and architects to get the most accurate estimate together as possible. Pricing for a building from Great Western starts around $15 to $20 per square foot, depending on location-specific requirements, with total construction costs starting around $60 per square foot.

For an accurate estimate on a metal building from Great Western, consider using our 3D building designer to get a feel for how much flexibility and customization is available in our designs. Once you’ve submitted your preliminary design through our designer, we’ll contact you to get you a free quote. Alternatively, you can contact us directly with your building size requirements and location to start the estimate process.

Metal Building Advantages

Choosing a metal building from Great Western means choosing robust dependability. Naturally, steel construction is more robust than traditional timber structures. In addition, a metal building requires little to no maintenance, so you can trust that your metal building will remain intact and resilient for years to come. That’s why we provide our buyers with a lifetime structural warranty. We stand behind our product.

Metal buildings present a much more sustainable construction process. Our prefabricated metal buildings reduce construction time and job site waste. Additionally, even though we warranty them for life, the structures are largely recyclable should demolishing them ever become necessary. Sustainability runs deeper with a building from Great Western, too. Reflective coatings and modern insulation options can substantially reduce the needed operation of air conditioning or heating. Of course, our designers can also optimize your building for solar panel installation.

Modern metal building innovations like insulated panels, smart building integrations, advanced coatings for rust and corrosion resistance, and design flexibility mean you get a durable, affordable, modern building tailored to your needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can we install drywall or another type of finish on the interior of our steel building?

Customers can install a stud wall of light gauge steel or timber studs between your Great Western building’s wall or roof system between its girts and purlins without modifying the building design. In addition, our designers can outfit your building with girts spaced at either two or four feet with hat channels placed on 16-inch centers for a more straightforward interior finishing experience. This requires us to adjust the roof and wall design to support the extra material, but it’s a simple process that our designers have no problem accommodating.

Are glass storefront systems available?

Absolutely!  Our designers can integrate openings to support your choice of glass doors and windows for your storefront for a welcoming environment for customers. If you’re unsure of sizing and window preference, our team can make some recommendations to ensure you get precisely what you want!

We’re building an auto shop with lifts for the vehicles; how tall does the building need to be?

We recommend an eave height of 12 to 14 feet for buildings intended for auto repair uses. This provides sufficient space to install lifts and clear a truck or full-size SUV.

Can we add a screw down or through fastener?

We recommend our standing seam roof system because it offers proper weather protection. Our standard seam systems include a five-year weather tightness warranty that buyers can upgrade to 20 years as an option. A weather-tightness warranty is not supplied or available for screw-down or screw-through fastener roof systems because their design is inherently subject to leaks. If you still prefer a screw-down or screw-through system, the roof panel offers rust-through perforation and 40-year paint warranties.
