This 24′ X 24′ building was provided by Great Western to Keith in Larkspur, CO. Keith, who is a hobbyist woodworker, has also been dabbling in customer metal work. Lots of welding and fabrication. Because the sparks and heat were creating a fire hazard in his woodshop he decided it was time to build a dedicated shop and this time he wanted it made out of steel. This building also has 4′ 26 Gauge wall liner panels to protect the building insulation and provide even more fire protection.
To save interior space Great Western was able to provide a flush girt system on the walls which helped move the building frame columns out of the floor space. For aesthetics, the building color scheme and roof pitch were designed to complement his home and his existing shop building.
Keith was able to do the foundation and concrete work himself as well as most of the building installation. When needed he was able to enlist friends and neighbors to help which saved considerable cost.
