Our experienced engineers know the awesome responsibility you’re up against. We also know that units need to be durable enough to withstand multiple use, and a constant barrage of traffic – in and out, all the time. People want access to their valuables and they may not be as respectful to the structure as you are to their possessions, so the units need to withstand use and abuse.
With simple tools and components that are designed and produced to fit perfectly, you can be assured that the costly or annoying jobsite adjustments that a traditionally constructed building might require can be avoided – allowing you to serve your customers in a fraction of the time.
With Great Western’s easy to read erection manuals and 24/7 support line, you can feel comfortable that you’re not getting yourself into something you can’t handle. Our team not only sells and designs pre-fabricated steel buildings, but we also build them! Your sales team’s been in the field, they’ve been in the fabrication facilities, and they know, first hand, what to expect during the erection process.

Steel Storage Building FAQ’s
Do Great Western Mini-Storage steel buildings need a footer style foundation?
This of course depends on the soil conditions of your job site and the scope of your storage facility but for most the answer is no. A simple Alaskan Slab (slab on grade foundation) is usually more than adequate.
Do we need to have anchor bolts preset in the concrete before we erect the mini-storage?
This is another no for most of our mini-storage steel building projects. These buildings do not bear on the foundation like our rigid frame buildings, there load is more disbursed. This allows expansion or epoxy anchors to be drilled into the concrete which saves time and eliminates the possibility of having bolts secured in the concrete out of tolerance.
Why are mini-storage unit doors always orange?
The orange color for mini-storage roll up doors became popular because of a particular nationwide storage company. Orange was the company color. Many other storage companies seemed to just follow along. In order to provide our customers with the best selection to meet their aesthetic vision Great Western can provide steel roll up doors for you mini-storage building in over a dozen different colors, including the ever popular “sunset orange”.
Mini-storage units take a lot of abuse, how difficult is it to get replacement parts?
Simple! Great Western can provide milk-run type delivery throughout the lower 48 States. We have numerous vendor partners across the county that can provide replacement panels, doors, fasteners, trims and accessories in the same colors and profiles as your building.
Can you design the units to be adjustable in size?
Yes and No. If the units are back to back we can design the dividing wall so that it can be moved or removed. We cannot make the units adjustable in width however. Please let your representative know if you would like this feature added to your mini-storage building.
