Bryan, a Great Western customer in Colorado, interviewed with us to talk about his awesome home garage/shop. This building has a phenomenally unique attribute in that it’s built into the side of a hill. Certainly, that added to the complexity of the erection process, but it also adds a level of uniqueness to his building that we’re huge fans of!
“It’s a 62 by 30 and a 16-foot eve, nice and tall, so I can get a lift in there, and the doors are 16 x 12, three of them…I went with a really tall eve inside, so I’m gonna put a basketball hoop on the far side. That was one of my passions when I was growing up, and I want to make sure my kids have a nice spot to do that. It’s hard to come by in the mountains,” said Bryan.
He went on to discuss the complexities of erecting the building into the side of the hill on his property.
“We did something a little different because we had to blow the hillside out to build into the mountain here. So, it’s not a slab on grade, so it’s quite a bit of a different from an elevation perspective,” said Bryan.
Bryan explained that he did extensive research into manufacturers for his steel building before choosing Great Western. He spoke with people who have worked with GWB and other manufacturers to help him make his decision.
“I picked Great Western Buildings because of their reputation and their honest environment that they operate their business in. I had a great experience with Eric and all the employees that I worked with at Great Western throughout the whole process,” said Bryan.
Bryan’s project is a unique and outstanding use of one of our buildings, and we’re happy to have accommodated his needs. Bryan says that he had wanted a steel building for a good amount of time, and finally having the space to put one up seems to have made his dream a reality!
