“Everything really rolled and happened in a very fast time frame. In fact, it was happening faster than I could keep up.”
Jason is a Great Western Buildings customer out of Somerville, Texas, who purchased a building to turn into a barndominium for him and his wife. This barndo is a phenomenal example of transforming a fairly simple building into your ultimate dream. Overall, from the interior buildout and living quarters to the 12-foot overhangs providing cover from weather and a tranquil place to relax, Jason’s project is one of our favorites.
Jason’s building is a bit sentimental to us as a company, because his was one of the first off the assembly line at our manufacturing facility in Grand Junction, Colorado.
“Covid was a big problem. Supply chain issues across the globe for anything and everything…the whole world has changed because of that. It was bottlenecking everything…that’s when I met Eric, and because I was getting frustrated because I was wanting my building he was very direct with me. I was one of the first buildings out of their own manufacturing plant in Grand Junction…once we started that process…it really rolled and it happened in a very fast time frame, ” Jason told GWB.
We’re happy to have Jason stand out as one of our first customers with a building from our manufacturing facility and the uniqueness of his project makes us proud to have been a part of it.
Jason says that eventually he and his wife plan to build a house on the same property and retain their Great Western steel building as their “barn” of sorts. In the mean time, though, they use it as an escape to peace.
“The thing I love probably the most is just sitting on the porch. I love the peace and quiet sitting out here, watching nature,” said Jason.
“The (erection) company that I used had never built a Great Western Building…when they were building it, they mentioned to me multiple times; you’ve got a really good structurally sound building. So, that was re-affirmation of the choice I made to go with Great Western Buildings, ” said Jason.
He continues to say that he is happy to be an example to future GWB customers of what they’re going to get and share things that he would do differently if he were to start over.
Overall, Jason is happy with his building and we are happy to have manufactured it for him. It will forever be a major milestone in Great Western Buildings history and we can’t wait to see what Jason and his wife have in store for its future!
