“We were blessed with the timeline from start to finish”
Pastor Ted Lankster with Ark of Promise Apostolic Church in Athens, Alabama hosts his congregation in a 60 x 110 steel building from Great Western. Ted was kind enough to share the story of the construction of their new sanctuary with us!
Ted told GWB that the church started in 2011 in his living room until it grew enough to purchase their prior building, which was a former elementary school.
“As we’ve outgrown that, we saw the need for more seating as we grow, so we’re just moving into a bigger place. That’s one of the greatest parts, is the church is growing,” said Ted.
Ted went on to say that the building was finished way ahead of schedule.
Ted says that the project was an all-hands-on-deck scenario. There was rough weather coming in and he thanked everyone for their efforts to get the church finished in a timely manner.
“There was a lot of people who gave out of their hearts into this project to get it done…from the timeline of everything happening, from our supplies, the people we bought the building from, the people who we got our lumber from, our finished flooring, everybody really worked so hard to keep us on our timeline and we do want to thank everybody that was involved in that,” said Ted.
